CONCRETE OVERLAY - WHY IS MY CONCRETE SURFACE FAILING?

Concrete has been failing homeowners for years, costing thousands of dollars to replace, not including the demo of your old concrete. Don't worry, your not the only one. After water, concrete is the most consumed material on the planet. The most common cause of concrete failure is adding to much water before pouring or when finishing the surface. Adding water weakens the concrete itself and the surface of the concrete diminishing its strength and durability. Poor-quality concrete can show excessive wear and develop spalling in a matter of months.

WHAT IS SPALLING CONCRETE?

Spalling or scaling, is more common in colder climates where freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing chemicals are prevalent. Freezing causes the water in the capillaries of the concrete to expand, creating pressure. Over time, the expansive pressure from repeated cycles of freezing and thawing can break away the top surface of the concrete, leaving pit marks and exposing the coarse aggregate. De-icing chemicals only aggravate the already-stressed concrete by allowing more water to migrate into the concrete, thus increasing the size and depth of the spalling failures when a freeze occurs.

EPOXY RENOVATION uses a unique and highly flexible polymer liquid that is mixed with our proprietary cement and crushed marble aggregate creating a cementitious-based system that chemically bonds to almost any surface. Designed for both exterior and interior use, enhancing and protecting countertop surfaces from the harshest elements.
